Arrows in Zelda: Breath Of The Wild are one of the most important weapons that you can collect in the open world. There are six types of arrows in Breath Of The Wild, and they each have different abilities that affect the environment and your enemies in unique ways.

Throughout the course of your playthrough, you may need to tackle different challenges that require a specific arrow type. As such, you should know where to find every arrow type and how they function in the environment.

The Effects Of Each Arrow Type

Every arrow type has a unique effect, and their effects usually affect the environment in certain ways. Some arrow types are also better for fighting specific enemies. Here is every arrow type and each effect.

Regular Arrow

Arrows don't have any unique effect; however, they can damage enemies. Outside of damaging enemies, you can use arrows to shoot down certain objects in the world, and Korok puzzles occasionally require arrows to complete them.

Fire Arrow

Fire Arrows are a more powerful type of arrow than the regular variety. You can use Fire Arrows to damage most enemies; however, they're particularly effective against enemies found in cold regions. You can also use Fire Arrows to light objects on fire, which is useful in certain scenarios. It's always a good idea to have a few Fire Arrows in your inventory in case you run into a situation that requires its use.

Shock Arrow

Shock Arrows are fun to use because they can stun enemies, as well as damage them. If you're running from an enemy that you don't think you can defeat, then you can fire a Shock Arrow at it to stun it for a few seconds. Wet enemies are particularly vulnerable to electricity. You need to be careful of Shock Arrows, too, since enemies can use them to stun you during combat.

Ice Arrow

Similar to Shock Arrows, Ice Arrows can stun enemies by freezing them, which is a useful ability to have during combat. Ice Arrows deal a lot of damage to hot enemies, so you should bring a few of them with you whenever you have to fight monsters of this variety.

Bomb Arrow

Bomb Arrows are one of the most powerful weapons in Breath Of The Wild, and you should be sure to keep a few in your inventory whenever you're adventuring across Hyrule. Bomb Arrows not only deal massive damage, but they can hit multiple enemies at once since they explode upon impact. If you are fighting a group of enemies, then a Bomb Arrow may be exactly what you need to win the battle. You can also light objects on fire with Bomb Arrows.

Ancient Arrow

Ancient Arrows are the strongest arrow type in Breath Of The Wild because you can use them to easily defeat Guardians, along with other enemies. If you hit a Guardian in its center with an Ancient Arrow, then you'll defeat it instantly, and other enemies disintegrate once this arrow touches them.

How To Get Every Type Of Arrow

Arrows in Breath Of The Wild are everywhere; however, specific types of arrows have unique locations where you can either find or purchase them if you have enough Rupees. You can only buy a few sets of arrows each time you visit a merchant's store, and then the shop will have to restock the item. Here's where to find every type of arrow in Breath Of The Wild.

Arrow

Regular Arrows are found all over Hyrule; many enemies carry them, and they're a common reward from chests. However, the easiest way to obtain Arrows is to buy them from merchants. A few of the locations you can buy Arrows at are the General Shoppe inside the Korok Forest, the East Wind store in Hateno Village, and Beedle, the merchant who travels all over Hyrule.

Fire Arrow

Similar to regular Arrows, Fire Arrows are a reward you can earn from chests. If you want a lot of Fire Arrows, then you'll need to buy them from a shop. The best locations to purchase Fire Arrows include The Curious Quiver in Kakariko Village, the Arrow Specialty Shop in Gerudo Town, and the Goron Gusto Shop inside Goron City.

Shock Arrow

If you want to get some of these electrifying arrows for your adventure, then you need to either find them inside of a treasure chest or purchase them from a store. The shops that sell Shock Arrows include the Arrow Specialty Shop in Gerudo Town, the General Shoppe inside Korok Forest, and the market in Lurelin Village.

Ice Arrow

Ice Arrows are somewhat rare in Breath Of The Wild; however, you're about as likely to find them in chests as other unique arrow types. As such, buying Ice Arrows is the easiest way to get them. The most accessible shops in Hyrule that sell Ice Arrows are the Arrow Specialty Shop in Gerudo Town, the arrow store inside Kara Kara Bazaar, and the Goron Gusto Shop in Goron City.

Bomb Arrow

Bomb Arrows are very powerful, so they aren't particularly common throughout Hyrule. However, there are a few places you can purchase Bomb Arrows if you aren't receiving enough of them in chests. The merchant shops that carry Bomb Arrows are The Slippery Falcon in Rito Village, the Arrow Specialty Shop in Gerudo Town, the arrow store inside Kara Kara Bazaar, and the East Wind in Hateno Village.

Ancient Arrow

You can acquire Ancient Arrows multiple ways. The first way to get Ancient Arrows is to find them in chests; however, you can only find them in chests within Hyrule Castle, so this isn't the easiest way to get lots of Ancient Arrows. Alternatively, you can create Ancient Arrows at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab in the northeastern part of Hyrule.

Once at the lab, you can use the Ancient Oven to craft Ancient Arrows with Ancient Materials. You can find Ancient Materials throughout Hyrule, and a common way to get them is by searching chests inside Shrines and the Divine Beasts.
